American Pie actress and poker pro Shannon Elizabeth to play for World Team Poker’s Team Lebanon

She got the world’s attention in the movie American Pie, but Hollywood actress Shannon Elizabeth has long been considered something of a poker pro. It has been announced that she will partake in the upcoming World Team Poker event, but not on Team America.

Thanks to her parents coming from the Middle Eastern country of Lebanon, Elizabeth is eligible to play on Team Lebanon, and that is what she is going to do.  She isn’t the only American-based poker pro to play for different country’s team. Daniel Negreanu often plays for Canada in these kinds of events, and Johnny Chan plays for China.

The tournament kicks off next month from the Golden Nugget in Downtown Las Vegas.

While some may call Shannon Elizabeth’s poker skills into question thanks to her pretty face, they have to face facts: she has earned four cashes in World Series of Poker (WSOP) events over the past four years.

Team Lebanon will have Dany Georges and Freddy Deeb, Joe Awada and Mark Betor.

The World Team Poker event will have teams from: Armenia, Australia, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Iran, Israel, Korea, Lebanon, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Switzerland, Turkey, United States, and Vietnam.
