Big Numbers at the WSOP
'One of the more fruity casino employees'
Today is Day Three of the Doubleya Es O Pee, and already the big fields are crowding the tournament halls at the Rio in Las Vegas , and the musical sounds of cash register chimes are delighting the organizers at Harrah's. The first day was filled with Super Satellites and the like, and a little something called the WSOP Tournament of Champions, inexplicably held at the start of the WSOP instead of at the end like last year. Monday saw the start of the Casino Employee fun with Event 1, a $500 buy in event started by Binion as a way of saying thanks to hard working guys and gals in Sin City (at the casinos...get your mind out of the gutter.)
With over 1,200 players the field pretty much doubled last year's numbers, and the prize pool is north of four hundred grand. As for today's events it is the continuation of Event 1 at 2pm and the kick off of Event 2 at noon.
Event 2 is a $1,500 buy in No Limit Hold'em event scheduled to run three days, the first open event of the WSOP this year and sold out with something over 2,200 players.
