Billy Baxter Wins Two at Five Star World Poker Classic

Billy Baxter is a legendary poker player. The Hall of Fame inductee (2006) has seven WSOP bracelets and staked Stu Ungar from 1990 until his death eight years later. A true class act, Baxter is in his late 60s and continues to rack up the tournament earnings. So far, at the 2008 Five-Star World Poker Classic, the affable Baxter has cashed in three events, winning two of these earnings that exceed $300,000.

In Event #1, an NLHE contest with a $2,000 buy-in, Baxter finished ninth, two behind Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi. Events 6 & 9, also No-Limit Hold'em competitions, belonged entirely to Baxter. He won both tournaments and a hefty six-figure payday with each title.

The Five-Star World Poker Classic winds up with the WPT Championship, which begins on April 19th. The final table of that event will be played on April 26th.
