Blair Hinkle Makes It a Family Affair at the 2008 World Series of Poker
Blair Hinkle began the final table of the $2,000 NLHE Tournament with the second highest number of chips. The young poker professional, whose older brother Grant took down Event #2 earlier in the series, put forth a commanding performance, knocking out six of the eight other finalists at the table.
On the final hand, Hinkle earned a full house, sixes full of deuces. Not only did Blair earn his first bracelet and more than half a million dollars but also his place in WSOP history. Blair and his big bro Grant became the only pair of siblings to win a bracelet in the same World Series year. [Note: Puggy & JC Pearson and Howard Lederer and Annie Duke are the only other bracelet-winning siblings that we are aware of.]
Here are the final results:
1) Blair Hinkle - $507.613 2) Mark Brockington - $326,551 3) Daniel O'Brien - $198,132 4) David Steicke - $166,333 5) Dustin Dirksen - $135,757 6) Chris Bjorin- $106,404 7) Dominik Kulicki – $81,943 8) Andrew Jeffreys - $63,598 9) Stephanie Tayar - $45,252
