Kenny Tran Wins Heads-Up World Championship at 2008 World Series of Poker

Kenny Tran is a father of three. This year he got one of the best father's day presents any dad could ask for – his very own World Series of Poker bracelet. The talented poker professional, who hails from Alhambra, California, survived eight heads-up matches to emerge victorious in the $10,000 World Championship Heads-Up NLHE Tournament at the 2008 WSOP.

A total of 256 players took to the felt in this tournament, 64 of whom made bank. These included Carlos Mortensen (64th place - $14,438), Andy Black (21st place - $21,657), David Williams (9th place – $36,096). Vanessa Selbst, fresh off her win in the 19th touranment , took third position and $108,288 in cash.

The final heads-up match was between Tran and Alec Torelli. Torelli is a resident of Orange County, CA. His biggest cash prior to this event was a fifth place finish at the 2008 Latin American Poker Tour Costa Rica NLHE Championship.
