Event #1 of the Seven Clans Poker Cup at the Coushatta Resort & Casino in Kinder, Louisiana got underway on Monday December 3, 2007 at 12pm. 180 people paid to play in the $225 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament, driving up the prize pool to $34,920. Austinite, Johnny Cuchia took down the top prize of $10,476. This made the total prize pool $19,720. The first place team of Charlie Greer and George Nino split $10,476 between 'em. His time the buy-in was $330. Johnny Cuchia of Austin, who took down the first event at the Seven Clans cup earlier in the week, put in a strong showing here as well. Cuchia finished in third place, adding $2,448 to his winnings thus far. He joined 152 other folks in this event, which was the richest of the series thus far. The total prize reached $44,523 with more than $13,000 going to the champ, Bruce Higdon of Wilmer, Alabama.
