Poker Stars Sunday Million - Tournament Results (11.12.06)

There was a massive field of entrants this week - 6,700. Obviously, Pokerstars is the place for online poker players to be each Sunday. This brought the prize pool up to a massive $1.348 million prize pool. $188,720 went home with first place.

By the time the final table was set, almost 1,000 players had cashed. BadcardsAA wasn't living up to the name. This player held the chip lead with well over 17mil in chips. BadcardsAA's nearest competitor, holla @ yoboy.com held around 10mil.

Legato from Stockholm, Sweden, was third in chips, but would quickly move up the rankings after knocking out the first player at the final table. GF_Playa just couldn't overcome Legato's A-J. Adios!

On the very next hand, bubbaloo2's pocket sevens were crushed by BadcardsAA's K-4. A few hands later, the field was down to six when Brodawg's pocket tens couldn't crack Legato's pocket jacks.

Play didn't continue for very long until the six remaining players considered a deal. PokerStars allows these deals so long as all players agree and so forth. Check out their rules regarding deals. They're are listed in the tournament section of the PokerStars' web site.

Anyway, each of the remaining players agreed on a chop that would ensure each at least $47,000. This didn't stop the fast and furious action. BadcardsAA sent VIP_MoDee to the rail when his A-Q kicked the pants off Modee's A10. BigAl1647 knocked out Lem Motlow when he caught a jack on the river. BadcardsAA was back in aggressive form when he crushed holla @ yoboy. His pocket deuces held up over holla's K-J.

At this point, it may have looked like Badcards was gonna run away with this thing, but fate intervened. Legato won a few big pots to turn the tide. He even knocked Badcards out of the tournament...in third place. It only took a dozen hands for Legato to finish of BigAl. He won in grand style, with a set of aces.

Check out the final standings below. As mentioned earlier, the top six made a deal to chop the prize money. This is why the amounts don't seem to match the standings!
