On Friday, December 7, 2007 Ultimate Bet kicked off its second online championship series the UBOC 2. The first event was a $215 buy-in short-handed NLHE tournament. The guaranteed prize pool was $100,000. The 670 entrants brought that number up to $134,000. In the end, shotskee took the title and $30,820. He defeated LifetimeTilt in heads-up play to accomplish the feat. Here are the results: 1) shotskee - $30,820 2) LifetimeTilt - $18,760 3) uscsteve - $12,462 4) _advanced - $8,710 5) The-Prophet - $7,370 6) lvnoffsklskyb - $6,030 Speaking of feats, Greg “Wild Duck” Hobson, who's better known by his Full Tilt Poker online moniker, Duck U, won the second and fourth tournaments. He also took fifth in Event #5, but more on the latter events in a bit. Event #2 had 377 entrants. This No-Limit Hold'em competition featured a $109 total buy-in. With rebuys, the tourney brought in $116,200. “Wild Duck” claimed more than $29 k of that prize pool. These are the final standings: 1) Wild Duck - $29,050 2) ebisumaru87 $17,430 3) majdasdad - $12,201 4) PiMaster - $9,005 5) donnysack - $7,553 6) r_a_y - $6,100 7) CoolHandTony - $4,938 8) ronpaul2008 - $3,776 9) awobball44 - $2,614 10) TheMiltMan - $1,452 In Event #3, CollegeChick reigned supreme. This tournament was a Pot Limit Omaha fiesta with a $215 buy-in and a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000. 677 players drove that up to a tasty $57,600. CoolHandTony, who finished in seventh place in Event #2, took 18th place and $403 for his efforts in this tournament. Here are the results: 1) CollegeChick - $14,976 2) indariva - $8,928 3) NeddyFlanders - $6,336 4) BodogMaven - $4,608 5) FoolMEonce - $3,744 6) ToddMT - $3,168 7) golf4fun - $2,592 8) danathan - $2,016 9) tallynwrtr - $1,440 10) tony242544 - $1,152 Greg Hobson played in both tournaments held on Sunday, December 9, 2007 as part of the UBOC. The talented online player, as was mentioned previously, won Event #4. This tournament took place of the regular Sunday $200,000 Guaranteed. With a buy-in of $215, Ultimate Bet saw some big numbers in the event. 1,317 players took part in the festivities, generating a prize pool of more than $260,000. Facing a tough final table, Hobson played heads-up against papitulo. His win netted him another $55,709 and put him atop of the UBOC 2 leaderboard, a spot we don't think he's going to give up any time soon. These are the final standings: 1) Wild Duck - $55,709 2) papitulo - $33,030 3) potroast00 - $23,047 4) Apathy123 - $17,121 5) spotty8 - $13,828 6) Tony Pisser - $11,062 7) bertgwen - $8,428 8) kaleb79 - $5,926 9) slkid121212 - $4,477 10) theONEyouENVY - $2,634 The second tournament held on December 9, 2007 in the UBOC 2 was Event #5. This NLHE contest featured a guarantee of $150,000 and a big buy-in of $535. 463 folks put up the cash to play in the tourney, generating a total prize pool of $231,500. The field was full of big name players including Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul and Yevgeniy “Shenk0” Timoshenko, aka “JovialGent”, both of whom finished in the top 20. Greg “Wild Duck” Hobson made it to the final table, taking down $13,890 and even more leaderboard points for his fifth place finish. However, the biggest name, by far, was Eric “Rizen” Lynch. Lynch consistently cashes online and has made bank at the WSOP Main Event. (He brought home $495,000 in the 2006 WSOP Main Event, finishing in 24th place.) A feared player both online and in live action events, Rizen is the cream of the crop in the industry. As expected, the cream often “rizes” to the top. Event #5 proved no exception to this rule. Rizen took down the tournament, more than $57,000 and the title. Here are the results: 1) Rizen - $57,875 2) nutstr844 - $34,725 3) DR SNUS - $23,728 4) iamadonk - $16,205 5) Wild Duck - $13,890 6) raydog61 - $11,575 7) Farkouh - $9,260 8) saltcity1 - $6,945 9) majdasdad - $4,630 10) QUEENLAYER - $2,893
