TheBrain Outwits and Outlasts the Competition in Event #23 at the FTOPS IX
Erich “EFro” Froehlich isn't even 25 years old yet, but he's already got 2 WSOP bracelets. The accomplished “Magic: The Gathering” player took to the virtual felt on Saturday August 16, 2008 at 4.30 ET for the $109 PL Omaha Rebuy tournament. 1,058 players joined him, generating a $424,600 prize pool.
Jon “PearlJammed” Turner and David Pham represented for the Full Tilt pros, making bank in the tournament while BKiCe, JaffaCake and A_Junglen were among the big name internet players who earned some money in the event. GETPWN3D, runner up in Event #17 at the FTOPS IX, took 33rd place in this tournament, adding $1,358.72 while ryanbluf , the winner of Event #8 on August 10th, finished in 12th place, adding nearly $4,000 to his bankroll.
Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson , one of the most prolific online players out there, finished third in this event. He collected $44,795.30 for the day. This left just two players in the tournament, MavFish and TheBrain. In the end, MavFish was the runner-up and TheBrain won the day as well as the $95,535 that went along with it.
