Ultimate Bet paid out nearly $50,000 in the Sunday $200k on the last weekend of August, 2008. The 758 players who took part in the event got good value for their buy-in dollar, nearly 25% worth. The top spot was set to earn $46,000.
Obviously, the savvy rounders came out to play. The final was full of them including Thayer “UCF_THAYER” Rasmussen, a 21 year old who's already amassed a fortune greater than half a million online and Mark “dipthr0ng” Herm, who took down both the Bodog and Full Tilt Sunday tournaments on July 13, 2008. Rasmussen, who took fourth place at the WPT Season VI Mandalay Bay Poker Championships, finished in ninth place, adding $3,500 to his bankroll while Herm, who has been making final tables left and right as of late, made it to three-way play. Herm claimed $18,500 for his efforts.
This left negativeROI and maug13 to fight it out for the top spot. In the end, maug13 won the final pot and the tournament, earning $46,000.
