mmmad Makes Bank at FTOPS VIII Pot Limit Omaha Tournament
Saturday May 10, 2008 Full Tilt held its first of two FTOPS events with a Pot Limit Omaha competition. Hosted by Dario Alioto, the tournament drew 637 entrants. This brought the $300,000 Guarantee up to a total of $318,500.
Recent WPT champ, David Chiu, finished strong in the event, taking 43rd position and $987.35 for his efforts. Lee Watkinson, who took eighth place at the 2007 WSOP Main Event, made it all the way to 33rd position. He added $1,274 to his coffers. Scott Fischman, who continues to impress - he's cashed in both Event #1 and Event #3 of this series so far, was the top FTP pro to finish in the event. He nearly made it to the final table, taking the twelfth slot and putting 3,822 additional dollars in his Full Tilt account.
Online pros such as Roothlus (66th place) and Gigabet (17th place) finished strong in the tournament. Two prior winners of this FTOPS VIII also made bank in this tournament. EMSBas took the 77th spot and the guru 11 made it all the way to 34th place before singing his swan song.
After all was said and done, mmmadd hoisted the virtual trophy, staking claim to the title, the avatar and over $68k.
