1,070 players signed on to play in Event #2 at the Full Tilt Online Poker Series VIII on Thursday May 8, 2008. This drove the prize pool up to a respectable $214,000 – that's $14k more than the posted guarantee – which is not bad for a Pot Limit Omaha event.
Max “The Italian Pirate” Pescatori hosted the tournament but didn't make bank. In fact, none of the Full Tilt pros who entered the tournament came away with cash. Karina Jett finished in 203rd place and Andrew Wiggins, the highest FTP finisher, took the 145th slot.
A total of 108 players earned some cash in the tournament with whothedonk defeating gregguiche in a heads-up match-up to take the title and the first prize of more than $48k.
