€1.5 Million Belgium Poker Championship Announced
The 2008 Belgium Poker Championship is expected to be the biggest yet. Now in its fourth year, the main event of the tournament is due to draw 1,000 entrants, which is nearly 200 more than last year. Capacity is doubled to 1,600 just to be safe.
Held at the Casino of Namur and Spa, the Main Event was won last year by Belgian native Jamiel Maistraux. Maistraux earned €300,092 for his efforts. This year the prize pool is expected to top €2 million and anyone over 21 can play in the event, regardless of country of origin.
