Michael Phelps Grabs Another Gold … at Caesar Poker Classic

Michael Phelps sure has the Midas touch. Earlier this summer, the human dolphin became the most decorated Olympian in history by winning a total of 14 gold medals over the course of two Olympic Games. This included eight in Beijing alone. This included eight in Beijing alone. Phelps has a love for something besides the water. He loves poker.

Recently, the swimmer finished ninth out of 187 entrants at Event #2 of Caesar's Poker Classic. This preliminary event was a $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament. Phelps received more than $5,000 for his efforts and was presented with a gold medal by poker room manger Jim Pedulla and supervisor Bill O'Connell.

He also mentioned that he's planning on playing in the World Series of Poker sometime soon. Perhaps Phelps will add some WSOP bling to his medal collection soon.

Note: Phelps hung around with Doyle Brunson earlier this summer in Las Vegas. You too can hang with Doyle and the celebs at his online poker room. Each week, Doylesroom hosts a Celebrity Bounty Tournament. Visit Doyles' Room now for the 4-1-1!
