Allen Bari Wins Borgata Summer Open Championship

Allen Bari is a 23 year old poker pro from West Orange, NJ. The bicoastal player was in Vegas two weeks ago cashing in the 23rd event at the World Series of Poker. Then, on the 22nd of June, the graduate of Rutgers University who turned to poker as a career after being laid off from Morgan Stanley, won the Borgata Summer Open in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Bari defeated Vinny Pahuja in heads-up play. The duo last battled heads-up in March at the WSOPC Atlantic City. Bari won that match up too, claiming the $1,000 NLHE tournament in that series.

This time Bari won a lot more. The top prize in the Borgata Summer Open was more than $500,250. Perhaps Bari can take some comfort in the knowledge that the forced career change wasn't such a bad thing after all.

Here are the final results:

1) Allen Bari - $500,250 2) Vineet “Vinny” Pahuja - $289,800 3) Jeremy Schoenberger - $143,175 4) Alexs Nepomnyaschiy - $120,750 5) Paul Kitsos - $103,500 6) Allan Colon - $86,250 7) Barry Leventhal - $69,000 8) Bill Phipps - $51,750 9) Mark Herm - $34,500
