Jimmy Schultz Takes Title in Event #12 at the 2008 World Series of Poker

Jimmy Schultz is a 37 year old mortgage broker living in Columbus, OH. The Charleston, SC native is also a part-time poker player. His hometown was on his mind throughout the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Event. Jimmy, who vowed to donate 25% of his earnings to the Charleston Fire Department (CFD), took down the tournament, making a heart flush on the final hand.

The big-hearted hero, who announced that he never went all-in during this event, was moved by the plight of the CFD, which recently lost nine firefighters in a warehouse inferno, and paid tribute to them not only by wearing CFD gear at the table but also by making good on his pledged donation.

As he said upon winning, “It's not about me. It's all about them. I said that coming in. I prayed about it and I am just thrilled to death that I can do something for my community to make it a little bit better for those folks in Charleston County.”

Congrats, Jimmy. You are a real class act.

Here are the final results:

1) Jimmy Schultz - $257,105 2) Zach Fellows - $165,165 3) Vinny Vinh - $99,099 4) Brendan Taylor - $82,882 5) Teddy Monroe - $67,867 6) Markus Golser - $53,453 7) Ali Eslami - $41,441 8) Christoph Niesert - $32,432 9) Chung Law - $23,423
