DuplicatePoker Announces World Championship Event | Duplicate Poker's First World Championship
Duplicate Poker is looking to find the world's best poker player. The site, which is completely legal in the US, uses a special format which dramatically reduces luck in the game. Duplicate Poker deals each table in the tournament from the same deck. Players have the same cards. The most skillful players will make the best decisions and win.
Right now, the site is holding qualifying rounds for the inaugural Duplicate Poker World Championships. Beginning on February 4th at DuplicatePoker.com and extending for 30 weeks 'til September 14th, players can take part in the regional online tourneys. Each region is divided into six distinct geographical locations and totals 180 players. Once all 180 are chosen, they'll move on to an online quarterfinal.
Quarterfinal winners will earn a spot (one of seven) on a regional team. The finalists will receive travel packages including hotel, airfare and meals. Each will take part in a live action tournament in which the championship will be decided by both individual and team play.
Information on the location of the live portion of the tournament will be confirmed by Duplicate Poker at a later date.
