Sunday is certainly not a day of rest for the folks who play at PokerStars . This past weekend, The High Stakes Showdown was won by Canadian superplayer, Sorel “zangbezan24” Mizzi. What makes this feat even more incredible is that Sorel has already won this event twice – and it's only been in existence for a month!

The Sunday Hundred Grand, which gives players a bargain-basement buy-in of just $11, didn't make its 20,000 maximum this weekend for the first time since this event began. Only 19,203 players sat down to play. Grotan, of Norway , took the top spot and $16,504.88. In PokerStars' Sunday Warm-Up, a German player using the online handle, Soterdelf, was victorious. Here's how the final table stacked up in that event:

1) Soterdelf - $84,091.32 2) ZOR_Gambler - $42,431.40 3) Tulkaz - $30,173.44 4) Ian J - $24,430.20 5) KUDUZ - $19,158.42 6) MikeMaverick - $14,443.82 7) JBDenaro157 - $10,157.82 8) Kovax - $6,300.42 9) Swansen - $3,771.68

Of course, the biggest game at PokerStars each weekend is the Sunday Million. This weekend, a total of 6,567 players came to do battle. The prize pool swelled to a cool $1,313,400. Each of the top eight were assured a five figure payday.

Derek “Dsnyder9521” Snyder, one of the internet's most feared pros, sat second in chips as the final table action got underway. However, some of the shortest stacks would double through early, making this a tough final table. After quite a while, by online poker playing standards, the first player bid the table adieu. Ironically, zizou444 called DSnyder's all-in with pocket sailboats.

Pre-flop it didn't look like such a bad call as Snyder showed a raggy big blind special (7d,5d). However, the board was unkind to ziz, bringing a seven on the flop and no help on fourth or fifth streets. Of course, ziz's homeland is listed as Bermuda . We just can't bring ourselves to feel too sorry for him. We bet that $8,000 plus he earned for his ninth place finish won't go towards an island vacation getaway.

taskel then hit the rails in eighth place after going all-in with an A,K. tetergold flipped up pocket sevens and it was off to the races. taskel paired neither of his overcards. tetergold would also claim the next victim just two hands later. He woke up with Ac,As in the hole. loosefer put in his remaining 6.9 mil chips with pocket fives. tetergold re-raised to isolate loosefer. The board came down 8s,Qh,9d,Kc,6d, and loosefer was sent back from where he came.

soad_live had a rough time of it. He began the final table in first position with about 12 million chips. However, he saw that lead dwindle. He went all-in with an A,Q. tilerman called and flipped over his American Airlines. Ouch! The board helped neither player so soad collected $30,208 for a disappointing sixth-place finish.

DSnyder9521 was the short stack for about a minute. That was how long it took him to bust out of the competition in fifth-place after being dealt a bad beat on the river. His full house was smaller than his opponent's.

The final four talked chop at this point. They finally agreed on a creative deal that guaranteed each at least $80,323 and was based loosely on the chip stacks of each player. tetergold sang his swan song soon afterwards when tilerman hit a set of ducks on the flop.

Omoneyman0 was sitting at the bottom of the chip pile at this point but made a few advantageous double-ups, once against Guesty001 with pocket aces. On the final hand, Omoneyman0 made an unlikely backdoor flush on the river, knocking tilerman out to complete his comeback.

Here are the final table results for the Sunday Million:

1) Omoneyman0 - $110,323.42 2) tilerman - $107,238.45 3) Guesty001 - $103,913.36 4) tetergold - $91,720.41 5) Dsnyder9521 - $42,160.14 6) soad_live - $30,208.20 7) loosefer - $21,671.10 8) taskel - $13,134.00 9) zizou444 - $8,143.08
