This weekend, PokerStars launched two new tournaments. First up was the High Stakes Showdown. This is a $10,300 heads-up event limited to just sixteen entrants. Despite the big buy-in, the slots were filled up within minutes of registration being opened by some seriously big names. Stevesbets was the winner of this event, earning $72,000. DaMadPotter, ActionJeff and Genius28 all won over $20,000 in this tourney so it's no surprise that they're already booked for next week's event. Joining them are folks like Danny “THE__D__RY” Ryan, Sorel Mizzi and Steve Billirakis.

Poker Stars also held its first-ever Sunday Hundred Grand this past weekend. Several days before the tourney was scheduled to begin, the site already met the goal of 15,000 max entrants, making this the largest (in attendance) online tournament ever.

2,000 folks earned some moolah in the tournament and the eventual winner, Danolo83, took down the first place finish and $18,900. Not bad for an $11 investment, huh?

Of course, PokerStars.com still hosted its Sunday Million. Over 6800 peeps paid to play in this tourney. This brought the prize pool up to a cool $1,364,200. rkruok was the chip leader when the final table action began. However, he wouldn't last long. After losing the bulk of his chips in a relatively short amount of time, rkruok busted out in seventh place after pushing in with just a 6c,5c. FcMunky then sent sgloon to the virtual rail when the river brought him a set of fives. Two minutes after, CJCAT's pocket cowboys were cracked by none other than FcMunky. Then vietcong01, the father of Everest Poker player, Maria (May) Maceiras, and the event's eventual winner, took a 'byte' out of program1. His fourth place finish netted him over $50,000.

The three remaining players agreed to a by-the-chips chop with $30,000 going to the champ. This guaranteed Maceiras at least $127,154. Dallas Rob was assured of $102,631 and FcMunky would receive $97,634 no matter what.

A few hands later, Dallas Rob would thank his lucky stars that he made the deal as he hit the rail in third place with more cash than the runner up, FcMunky. On the final hand, vietcong01 called FcMunky's all-in bet and flipped over pocket kings. FcMunky was behind with just a K,Q in the hole. The board gave the viet a set and that was all he needed to seal the deal.

Here are the final results for the PokerStars Sunday Million Event:

1) vietcong01 - $157,154 2) FcMunky - $97,634 3) Dallas Rob - $102,631 4) program1 - $54,568 5) CJCAT - $40,926 6) sgloon - $30,012.40 7) rkruok - $21,145.10 8) Mrsgardener - $12,277.80 9) BSTLCU72 - $8,048.78
